We are pleased to announce that the Hungary – Central Transdanubia Living Lab is now available in its local language, making its activities and innovative solutions more accessible to local stakeholders.
Led by 3R-BioPhosphate Ltd., the Hungarian Living Lab focuses on circular, upcycled ABC Animal Bone biochar – Compochar, which is being explored as a combined soil improver and biofertilizer for:
- Tomatoes
- Corn
- Wheat
From food-processing residues to agricultural resources
The researchers are working with biotechnologically formulated ABC-Compochar, produced from food-processing residues, including:
- Animal bone meal and rendered animal by-products
- Acidic whey, a dairy-processing by-product used for production of microbiological inoculants
By transforming these residues into valuable agricultural inputs, the Living Lab is exploring how circular approaches can support nutrient recycling and soil health, while reducing the loss of potentially valuable resources from the food-processing sector.
Innovation in practice
The Central Transdanubia Living Lab provides an opportunity to demonstrate and assess the application of ABC-Compochar under practical agricultural conditions. Through this work, researchers and stakeholders are contributing to the development of circular solutions that reconnect food-processing residues with agricultural production.
