On 10–11 September 2026, Waste4Soil partner KOTO Ltd participated at the international the TBMCE 2026 Conference, held in Portorož, Slovenia. The conference brought together researchers from academia and industry, representatives of ministries, and other stakeholders working in the fields of bioeconomy and the circular economy.
During the conference, Lea Lavric (KOTO Ltd) presented a poster highlighting the work carried out within the Waste4Soil Slovenia–Istria Living Lab, entitled:
“Conceptual Design and Agronomic Evaluation of a Bio-Based Soil Improver Derived from Food Production Residues in the Slovenia–Istria Living Lab.”
The contribution focused on the development of an innovative bio-based soil improver derived from food production residues, demonstrating the work undertaken within the Slovenia–Istria Living Lab to explore solutions that can contribute to healthier soils while valorising organic residues.
The presentation provided an opportunity to share the experience and progress of the Waste4Soil Living Lab with an international audience and to exchange knowledge with researchers, policymakers, industry representatives and other circular economy stakeholders.
Participation in events such as TBMCE 2026 supports the Waste4Soil project’s efforts to promote the valorisation of food production residues and advance circular approaches to soil management, while strengthening dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders working towards healthier and more resilient soils.
