KOTO d.o.o. (Slovenia)

KOTO has been a key player in the domestic food processing industry for over seven decades. Company provides high-quality services and sustainable comprehensive solutions for handling animal by-products. The operations are significantly complemented by the services of sludge collection and processing from municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, as well as the collection and processing of waste suitable for treatment in own biogas plant 0,5MWe with digestate production. 

 

Main Role: 

KOTO are involved in the mapping of FPR for The Slovenian Living-Lab; planning and co-creation of the SLO LL and soil improvers for the tests (focus on digestate and algal products) and new technology solutions for economically viable nutrient recovery rates from FPR transformation to bio-based soil improvers. Demonstration trials will be done with UNILJ and ZRS. KOTO will address multiple and diverse stakeholders of the Slovenian food waste chain and collaborate in the dissemination activities.
