The Waste4Soil Project is pleased to announce that the Polish Living Lab is now available in the Polish language, making its knowledge, activities, and resources more accessible to local stakeholders.
Coordinated by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG-PIB), the Polish Living Lab is a Replicative Proto Living Lab that aims to support the development of innovative solutions for sustainable soil management by fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the valorisation of agricultural by-products.
The Polish Living Lab:
- Connects stakeholders interested in the valorisation of food residues;
- Exchanges knowledge and collaborates with the other Living Labs within the Waste4Soil project;
- Develops innovative local solutions contributing to healthier soils and a more circular agricultural system.
- The activities of the Polish Living Lab focus on organic residues generated during fruit juice production, including:
- Apple pomace;
- Blackcurrant pomace;
- Apple and blackcurrant pruning residues from farms.
The main objective is to transform these agricultural by-products into soil improvers that can be reused on the same farms where the biomass is generated. Through this approach, the Living Lab contributes to reducing waste, promoting circular bioeconomy practices, and supporting more sustainable soil management.
The availability of the Polish Living Lab materials in the local language represents an important step towards strengthening engagement with regional stakeholders and ensuring that project knowledge reaches a wider audience.
Together, Waste4Soil partners are advancing innovative solutions for healthier soils and a more circular bioeconomy across Europe.
