On 13 November 2025, our partner LAB University of Applied Sciences presented the Waste4Soil Project at Lahti Science Day 2025 in Finland.
Mari Eronen and Alexandra Maksheeva delivered a presentation titled: “Challenges and Opportunities in the Use of Recycled Fertilizers.” Nutrient recycling from side streams and waste flows is a key pathway toward a circular economy and a more sustainable food system. However, despite strong research and innovation efforts, the adoption of recycled fertilizers on farms remains limited.
Research question:
What is slowing down the transition to recycled fertilizers, and what actions could accelerate it?
