The WASTE4SOIL project was pleased to participate in the Joint Internal Workshop on “Soil Improvers from Circular Bioeconomy Solutions”, co-organised with fellow EU Mission Soil Projects – DeliSoil and Bin2Bean. Held on 11 April online, the workshop brought together project partners and experts for an in-depth exchange on sustainable soil management strategies.
The workshop served as a dynamic forum for dialogue and knowledge exchange around several pressing topics:
- Practical challenges and on-farm needs, including insights from Living Labs
- Soil health indicators and existing assessment protocols
- Promising innovations and technologies to support sustainable soil management
During the workshop, Felipe Bastida, researcher at the Centro de Edafología y Biología Aplicada del Segura (CEBAS - CSIC), presented the WASTE4SOIL project, highlighting its goals, methodologies, and ongoing contributions. His intervention underscored the importance of integrating scientific research with practical, field-based applications to produce viable organic soil improvers from bio-based waste.
The session served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration between EU-funded projects working under the Mission Soil initiative. It also laid the foundation for upcoming joint dissemination efforts and reinforced a shared commitment to circularity, innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
WASTE4SOIL remains dedicated to building strong networks and advancing sustainable solutions that benefit farmers, the environment, and society at large.
