On 29 January, Waste4Soil partners IRTA, LEITAT, ITENE, BIOMASA PENINSULAR, and CSIC jointly organised the 4th Stakeholder Workshop of the Catalan Living Lab, followed by the 1st Committee Board Meeting, held at Torre Marimon in Caldes de Montbui (Barcelona, Spain).
The fourth workshop focused on presenting progress in both co-creation activities and the experimental pathways being developed within the project. Leitat provided updates on stakeholder engagement and co-creation actions, while all partners shared advances related to their respective innovations.
In particular:
- IRTA and Leitat presented developments related to the biogas route
- IRTA outlined progress on the compost route, including the application of soil improvers and initial results
- ITENE presented updates on the biochar route and logistics for food processing waste
- Biomasa Peninsular and CSIC discussed the formulation of soil improvers
Following the workshop, the first Committee Board Meeting took place, focusing on the validation of results obtained through the implementation of the Deep Learning Approach (DLA). During the meeting, the SMART goal-setting method was applied to further refine the objectives and define the future course of action for the Catalan Living Lab.
This event marked an important step in strengthening collaboration among partners and advancing sustainable, circular solutions for soil health within the Waste4Soil project.
