On 15 May 2025, the LAB University of Applied Science represented the Waste4Soil Project at the 15th International Scientific Conference “Business and Management”, hosted by Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VILNIUS TECH), in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Researcher Mari Eronen from Lab delivered a presentation on the results of our citizen survey, a key activity within Waste4Soil. The findings provided valuable insights into public perceptions and social acceptance, both essential drivers in the transition toward more sustainable food systems and the broader adoption of biobased fertilizers.
The conference, known for its strong emphasis on interdisciplinary dialogue and innovation, brought together leading experts, researchers, and professionals from across Europe and beyond. It served as a vibrant platform for exploring cutting-edge research and exchanging ideas on the future of business, management, and economics, with a strong focus on sustainability and green innovation.
Social Acceptance: A Pillar of Circular Bioeconomy Success
In Waste4Soil, we recognize that technological advances alone are not sufficient to ensure the successful uptake of circular bioeconomy solutions. Understanding and addressing the societal dimension—including citizens’ knowledge, concerns, and motivations—is critical to designing solutions that are both effective and accepted. The citizen survey, presented in Vilnius, marks an important step in this direction.
