On 19 August 2025, our partner Lab University of Applied Sciences organized a workshop at Salpaus Vocational Institute, located in the municipality of Asikkala, Finland. The event aimed to raise awareness about recycling opportunities and sustainable practices in agriculture, particularly among students and teachers in vocational training.
An Open “Walk-In” Format
The workshop was designed as an open “walk-in” session, making it easy and accessible for participants to join throughout the day. During the event:
- The Waste4Soil project was introduced through informative leaflets.
- Visitors were invited to complete a survey, sharing their knowledge, attitudes, and ideas about recycling in agriculture.
- Examples of Sustainable Innovation (SI) materials were on display, including biochar made from oat husks, showcasing how food production by-products can be transformed into valuable resources.
The main goal was to raise awareness among agriculture students and teachers about recycling opportunities in the agricultural sector.
Survey results from this event have been documented and will contribute to a future publication, combining insights from similar workshops across the project.
