On 27th of September 2024, our LAB University of Applied Science organized an online workshop, titled “Legislation can promote or hinder nutrient recycling".
The online workshop was focused on how current laws influence the reuse of nutrient-rich side streams from food manufacturing as soil improvers for agriculture. The lecture part explored the legislative uncertainties surrounding this practice and discussed potential regulatory changes that could impact its future. Participants gained insights into how these laws may evolve and what it could mean for stakeholders involved in nutrient recycling. The workshop offered an opportunity for stakeholders to engage with a specialist in the field and raise questions about the legal framework. This discussion clarified concerns and prepared stakeholders for possible legislative shifts.
